If I could wish for a new "new media", it would be a next generation social gaming hub. It would have characteristics of existing new media like Discord, which allows communications and sharing, but would also be able to group people and suggest gaming partners depending on the game you are playing. A lot of games today take advantage of multiplayer modes and as a result many competitive scenes have arisen. This has created an environment for competitive game-play even among casual gamers which leads to the biggest problem one can experience: randoms. When you queue up for a match online without friends, you get matched with random people around your skill level. Often times this means an enjoyable experience is rare as the chances of you getting good chemistry with a bunch of random people is very unlikely.
